Yet, that’s exactly what her new single, “Bless God,” does. The passionate ballad extols the virtues of our Creator and gives us numerous ways to lift up the name of Jesus.

“Blessing and glorifying God is a pathway to the preciousness of His presence and the unspeakable riches and treasures of the joy therein,” Ligertwood contends. “We bless God because we’re made to. We bless God because we need to… We bless God because Scripture invites us to, encourages us to, and commands us to.”
Indeed, Psalm 148:1-5 calls us to express our admiration and gratitude to the Lord: “Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens! Praise him from the skies! Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all the armies of heaven! Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you twinkling stars! Praise him, skies above! Praise him, vapors high above the clouds! Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for he issued his command, and they came into being.”

Ligertwood wrote “Bless God” with Brandon Lake and Cody Carnes and recorded her own version of the track for her latest studio effort, “EIGHT,” an 11-song collection of both old and new favorites with the lauded lyricist reimagining some of her most popular selections.
