Not only did longtime friends Brandon Lake and Phil Wickham reunite for a second consecutive installment of the “Summer Worship Nights” tour this August, but the revered lyricists also joined forces once again for an all-new original song, “Love of God.” A hymn-like offering of awe-inspiring wonder, “Love of God” is poised to become the next global anthem echoed around the world thanks to Lake and Wickham’s sincere vocals and brilliant lyrical twists and turns. With Lake helming the first verse and Wickham taking the reins on verse two, the beautifully stitched selection finds the esteemed worship leaders at the pinnacle of their craft. The two men penned “Love of God” with Cody Carnes and Benjamin William Hastings, and Air1 premiered the uplifting track during an exclusive Worship First event.

“God Is Not Against Me,” Elevation Worship

A seminal moment on Elevation Worship’s latest project, “When Wind Meets Fire,” “God Is Not Against Me” finds the award-winning collective singing of a God who is always for us. Helmed by the group’s Jonsal Barrientes and Tiffany Hudson, the building proclamation was inspired by the familiar passage of Scripture found in Romans 8:31: What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Written by Brandon Lake, Steven Furtick, Chris Davenport and Pat Barrett, the expressive original reiterates the truth that God is always working and always moving on our behalf. It also affirms His constant presence and provision in the lives of each of His children. Lake also previously recorded his own version of the song for his acclaimed “Coat of Many Colors” album.

“The Jesus Way,” Phil Wickham

There’s no denying who Phil Wickham is following when listeners hear “The Jesus Way.” The personal declaration sets the compass for Wickham’s life with a chorus that proclaims his unwavering allegiance to Christ. The SoCal native wrote the impassioned ballad — inspired by the words of Jesus during His famous “Sermon on the Mount” (also known as “The Beatitudes”) — with longtime collaborator and producer Jonathan Smith for his latest full-length album, “I Believe.” Painting an accurate portrait of God’s upside-down Kingdom and the narrow, but rewarding, path we walk as believers, “The Jesus Way” affirms the truth of John 14:6 written in red: “…I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

“Lead Me On,” Chandler Moore

Chandler Moore introduces a vulnerable song of surrender on “Lead Me On,” as the prolific lyricist steps out from Maverick City Music on his latest solo single. Moore penned the reflective, prayerful confession with Pat Barrett, Daniel Bashta, Jeff Pardo and Jonathan Jay. The honest declaration is the lead single from the multi-GRAMMY® winner’s sophomore solo endeavor, “Chandler Moore: Live in Los Angeles,” a recording captured in the heart of L.A. over two nights this past May. Moore’s earnest vocal washes over simple piano chords, eventually adding guitars, drums and a choir of voices as he fervently sings of letting go of his own plans to take hold of everything God has for him. The song has already been resonating with a global audience as Moore recently took his new music to Africa and Europe on an international outing with Maverick City Music.

“Friend in Jesus,” CAIN

CAIN’s love for worship music shines through on their latest radio single, “Friend in Jesus.” An unabashed offering of praise and adoration, the original song reveals the sibling trio pondering the depth of friendship they’ve discovered in a relationship with the Creator of the universe. “Friend in Jesus” brings to mind the Scripture found in John 15:15, which says, “I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.” Furthermore, the worship anthem crescendos into a bridge that pulls lyrics from classic hymn “In the Garden.” A studio version of “Friend in Jesus” is now available on the 18-track deluxe version of “Jesus Music,” CAIN’s sophomore LP.

“Worship Through It,” Tasha Layton (feat. Chris Brown)

Worship often precedes the miracle. Tasha Layton attests to this in her latest song, “Worship Through It.” Enlisting the help of Elevation Worship’s Chris Brown, Layton insists the key to breakthrough is worship. The “Never” songstress penned the fresh anthem of hope with friends Matthew West and AJ Pruis and her husband, Keith Everette Smith, who also produced the track. Premiering during an exclusive Air1 Worship First event, “Worship Through It” draws inspiration from countless verses in Scripture advising us to praise God regardless of the season we might find ourselves in. Passages like Psalm 34:1 support this biblical call to action: “I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak His praises.” Echoing these words and offering a taste of new music, the powerhouse vocalist confidently sings, “I know my God can do it, so I’m gonna worship through it.”

“Faithful Still,” KingsPorch

KingsPorch plots God’s steadfast history on “Faithful Still.” The musical expression of an emerging house church movement based in Austin, Texas, KingsPorch walks out the idea of the New Testament church — described in Acts 2 — with weekly multigenerational gatherings in homes that find those assembled sharing a meal, singing songs and studying God’s Word together. Embodying a welcoming, communal ethos, “Faithful Still” subtly namechecks several familiar stories in the Bible — the Israelites passing through the supernaturally parted Red Sea; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego exiting their fiery furnace unscathed; Daniel surviving the lions’ den; and David defeating his giant, Goliath. While the selection’s initial verse calls out anxiety and fear, its memorable bridge brings peace with simple declarations of truth: “I have a hope. I have a future. I’m a child of the Mountain Mover.”

“I Believe,” Charity Gayle

From the beginning, You’ve been unchanging. Age to age You stay constant, You remain. Every mystery, the questions I’ve carried are safe within Your will. So I trust You even still,” Charity Gayle sings as she introduces her new offering, “I Believe.” An unwavering declaration of the consistency of our Heavenly Father, “I Believe” was one of many songs Gayle and her husband, Ryan Kennedy, wrote in the wake of their oldest son’s premature arrival, as well as a cancer scare for Gayle. The soaring anthem of hope fits in seamlessly with the 13 additional originals that comprise “Rejoice (Live),” the “I Speak Jesus” singer’s third full-length effort. Lyrically and sonically, “I Believe” organically resides inside the full narrative that unfolds across “Rejoice.” Gayle admits the powerful selection is one of her personal favorites on the record. The resolute anthem of faith testifies to what we know to be true of God even when we can’t see how He’s working through our current situation.
