JWLKRS Worship enlists “American Idol” alum Ashley Hess for “Here I Am,” the title-cut of the collective’s debut EP. A song of surrender, “Here I Am” quiets the noise and stills our hurried hearts across a poignant ballad introed and outroed by an arresting piano melody that’s the real star of the original offering.

In the midst of hustle culture, JWLKRS Worship and Hess take time to stop and intentionally declare their unwavering allegiance to Jesus, pledging to follow Him no matter what. A cry for joy and an act of trust, “Here I Am” pulls the focus off our circumstances and puts it squarely on a God who is bigger than whatever we might be facing in the moment.
The group of siblings and friends has been encouraging fans with inspirational messages to accompany clips of the song across their online platforms, as they continue to leverage social media, their podcast and their influencer status to impact their peers for Christ.

While “Here I Am” gives JWLKRS Worship’s first EP its name, Hess isn’t the only featured guest on the five-track collection. Chandler Moore appears on the anthemic “In the Name of Jesus,” and Housefires, Blake Wiggins and Ryan Ellis help round out the set with chart-topping single “I Thank God.”
“We wanted to get into music, as a group, because we understand that music is the most powerful weapon the world has ever seen. You can change someone’s life in two-and-a-half hours with a movie — you can change their perspective, and you can remind them life is worth living — but you can do that in two-and-a-half minutes with a song. And you don’t even have to take their eyes. They could be driving down the road and just listening to the music, and it’s impacting them in a powerful way. So, for us, worship isn’t a performance,” the group’s Noah Schnacky asserts. “The reason we recorded this music is ‘cause we want to change people’s lives, their perspective from the inside-out. We hope that it really impacts people in their cars, on their way to work, wherever they are every single day; that it’s just a reminder and encouragement to them of who God is and who He wants them to be.”
