Air1 New Song Feature: "One More Day" Sons of Sunday

Sons Of Sunday expresses pure-hearted thankfulness on “One More Day.” Led by Leeland Mooring and Chandler Moore, the articulate ballad finds the men acknowledging their humanity in sharp contrast to a debt of unending gratitude. Reminding us that every day is a gift, the selection offers the perspective that each new sunrise is also another chance to give God credit for everything He’s done for us.

Video footage captures Sons of Sunday members wiping away tears as they soak in the lyrics:

I’m a sinner grace is still healing
I’m a story time is revealing
I’m all of these things
But mostly I’m thankful

I’m a fighter caught in a struggle
A survivor rising above it
I’m all of these things
But mostly I’m thankful

Overflowing into more than seven minutes of audio, “One More Day” transitions into spontaneous bursts of gentle praise. With emotion evident in their voices, Mooring’s fragile tenor is beautifully juxtaposed by Moore’s gravelly rasp. The recording is a standout selection from the outfit’s first album.

Sons of Sunday is worship music’s newest supergroup. With a star-studded lineup that boasts six of the genre’s foremost songwriters — Mooring, Moore, Steven Furitick, Brandon Lake, Chris Brown (Elevation Worship) and Pat Barrett — Sons of Sunday is more than a one-off experiment. It’s a testament to genuine friendship and collaboration born out of organic community.

The buzzworthy collective released their self-titled debut in May. The LP features a dozen originals written by the group members, as well as a few outside songwriters, that never made it onto any of their respective projects. From the anthemic “God Did!” to the Gospel-inflected “Holy Ghost,” the entire record is full of satisfying surprises as each of the men share lead vocals, experiment with diverse sonic elements and push the boundaries of what worship music can sound like.
